Off Route 1 in Ogunquit (just south of border to Wells) take Ocean Street to get to Footbridge Beach (look for the Footbridge Beach Motel as a landmark). There is a parking fee, but no beach fee. There are portable bathrooms available only at this beach. There is a small stand which has soft drinks and beach food available. Bring your cooler. A nice beach for relaxing and reading that novel that you have been waiting to read. Bring beach chairs and sun block, and the charm of this beach soothe your soul.
