Travel down to the end of Drakes Island Road (off Route 1 in Wells) and take a right to get to the parking lot of Drakes Island Beach. There is a parking fee, but no beach fee. There are life guards, rest rooms and the ice cream truck has been known to make visits during the summer months. Drakes Island Beach lies north of Wells Beach on the other side of the inlet to Wells Harbor. Plenty of soft white sand and beach. This is the second largest of the three listed Wells Beaches.
